The pilot lights should always be on in both indoor gas fireplaces. If it is not here are directions on how to get it lit. If you have not turned off the pilot light during your stay but it keeps going out please contact us as that could indicate we need to get an early cleaning completed.
Main Living Room
If the pilot light is on in the main living room fireplace please use the wall timer to operate it. The wall timer is located on the same wall as the powder room by the corner leading to the hallway, laundry closet, master bedroom.
To light the pilot manually, turn the knob from OFF to PILOT. Depress the knob and push the ignitor a few times to start the pilot light; keep the knob depressed for 45 seconds. When you release, the pilot should be lit; if it’s not, turn the knob to OFF and repeat the process. The ignitor is located on the left hand side of the log set as pictured above and indicated in the video.
Basement
To light pilot press knob in and turn to knob to IGN. Depress the knob and keeping holding it down for 45 seconds while pressing the starter a few times. Then adjust the flame to low or high (turn the knob directly to low or high, do not rotate it so it turns past off, this will turn the pilot off). When done with the fire, turn the knob back to IGN (do not turn the knob past off, turn it directly back to IGN).
**These instructions are meant for guests currently staying at Choctaw Mountain Lodge only. As always please take care when lighting or using the fireplaces and ensure they are turned off when done using them.
